Report: Audi Commissioning Mathematicians to Come Up With Numbers Smaller than 1 For Future Models

The Max Planck Institute is Collaborating with Audi
A report out of Ingolstadt, Germany, is that Audi is collaborating with mathematicians from the Max Planck Institute to come up with new numbers that can be used for Audi’s ever growing (though shrinking in size) lineup.
“We’re excited to announce that we are close to discovering several new numbers between 0 and 1 that Audi can use for future models” said Max Planck Institute spokesman Hans Bruber.
This is not the first time auto manufacturers have reached out to scientists for naming help. Volkswagen famously reached out to a schizophrenic homeless man to name its SUVs Tiguan and Touareg. And Acura entered into a joint venture with Lincoln to have scientists come up with new letter-number combinations for their car names. “We would never have thought of RSX,” Ichiro Sumuki of Acura told reporters back then. “Imagine if we had been stuck using Integra as the name of our small sporty hatchback. It could have lost popularity and embarrassed the brand.”
I attempted making an argument like yours one time, but I didn’t get a very good reply. I am hoping your writing on this topic turns out better than mine did. Keep up the sterling work.
