Reclusive Billionaire Tired of Being Accused of Bidding on Failed Car Companies
A reclusive billionaire from Europe says he is “absolutely sick” of being accused of being behind last-minute bids on struggling car companies, including Saab, Volvo, Saturn, Chrysler, Land Rover, Jaguar, Rover and MG.
“Enough already. I made my billions in a typical way: inheritance, feudal land ownership, and natural resource extraction. I might be eccentric enough to have a Wendy’s in my basement, but I’m not crazy enough to think anyone can turn profits owning a car company,” said Roger Elkins, 61, speaking from his compound in Zurich.
