Peugeot’s Hot Hatches Permanently Cancelled, Probably Won’t Uncancel Them For Another Year

French carmaker Peugeot has announced that it will no longer produce any hot hatches, the fun, affordable, practical family cars for which the firm was once well known.

Stein continued, “The GTI means a lot to English people but it is time to move on. We’re really sick of low class English chavs riding around in Peugeot hot hatches. Since their purchase cycle is about 15 years after production, we expect to have depleted the Chav used car offerings by 2024.”

Peugeot plans to go upmarket with its next generation of cars, following the success of brands like Volkswagen, Saab, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Buick at convincing consumers that their products really do compete with established premium marques.

Stein concluded the interview by saying that “After these plans fail, our next model cycle will triumphantly announce the return of the beloved Peugeot hot hatches and back to basics. Like, you remember how VW totally botched the Golf GTI for a bunch of years, and then everyone was loving the 2006 model? Basically that’s the kind of screw up we’re shooting for.”
