Thousands of fans of the Ford Mustang say that they refuse to buy the new pony car, let alone any other Ford, because of what they describe as a “pathetic” amount of torque from the brand new 5.0 liter V8 engine.

“390 lb ft? That’s f*cking it? Ford is so stupid and the customers are going to make them pay,” said one Mustang fan on the CarsRulez blog, reacting to the news. For reference, competitors to the Mustang have even more torque. The Chevy Camaro has 420 lb ft and the Challenger has 400 lb-ft or 420 lb-ft, depending on the version.

Other fans were equally frustrated. “I can’t believe Ford is screwing us so badly. They couldn’t even manage 400 lb ft of torque from the new V8. Any car with less than that is pathetic. I refuse to buy another Mustang, and I’ve owned 11 of them and 2 caught fire while I was inside. But this is going to be the thing that guarantees I never buy another Ford again.”

Ford responded to the news by saying “Oh tell those idiots to quit whimpering.”
