Ford In-Car Demo Computer Riddled With Weatherbug Popups and Constant Demands for Printer Driver Update

Ford has suffered an embarrassing blow as a demonstration of their new TouchMe,Ford in-car computer system was bogged down with popups from Weatherbug and Norton Antivurs and several annoying notifications that their printer driver update is ready for download.

systrayThe system has received generally warm reception from car dealerships, who are excited at the prospect of selling people a new car ever 2-3 years once the current one becomes too slow to be tolerable. “Once Microsoft Word takes 30-40 seconds to open up, we think people will just say screw it, I’m buying a new computer. And if that computer happens to have a Ford Escape around it, well that’s good for us.”

In related news, computer tech support experts and car fanatics have formed a labor union. Their press release announced “We are united in our common plight: both computer geeks and car geeks will now be fielding phone calls from Aunt Ida asking why Pandora opens and starts playing Britney Spears every time she fills up with gas.”

Ford’s head of Blue Screen of Death Management, Tom Eldison, minimized these concerns. “Look, if you’re having trouble with your TouchMe,Ford in-dash computer, the fix is easy. Turn the car off, wait a few minutes, then start it up again.”
