Couple Receive Boring Car as Vacation Rental
A vacationing couple from Massachusetts reported that they received a boring car as their rental in Orlando, Florida.
The couple, 33-year old Richard Nevins and his girlfriend, 28-year old Katy Smith, had reserved a midsize car. “I was really hoping for a Mustang — even if it was only the V6. My friend went on vacation and got a Mustang GT with the V8!” Nevins told MetaCars in a phone interview yesterday.
Instead, the couple’s hopes were smashed when they received a two wheel drive Jeep Compass with crank windows. Nevins further explained, “It wasn’t that big a deal, but it was like ‘why can’t I catch a break?’ I don’t even know if I’m going to tell my friends.”
The car rental company, PoorCar, had no comment.
“PoorCar replied, saying, ‘this was actually an upgrade from our original recommendation’. Fortunately for the couple, PoorCar’s base model Daewoo Lanos was already taken”.
