REPORT: Blog Commenter Very Angry About Price of Lexus LF-A Sports Car
A commenter at the CarsRulez blog is very angry about the price of the Lexus LF-A sports car, say sources at the website’s main office.
“This is STOOOPID,” John Cook, also known as user xxRuFfRiDaSxx wrote in the comment section of a blog post about the LF-A. “$350,000? ARe they on crack?” he asked friends and colleagues in a discussion following LF-A news.
Cook seemed especially mad about the price of the LF-A relative to competitors, noting “Let’s see, a Nissan GT-R will dust it and it’s only $80,000. And all the supercars are cheaper. The Ferrari 458, Lambo Gallardo, BMW M6, Mercedes SL Black Series, Aston Martin DBS.”
Speaking with Cook on Tuesday, he told a MetaCars correspondent “I need for people to understand the logic of how wrong they are. It just doesn’t make sense to say this thing is cool.”
Friends said they were concerned about Cook’s intensity on the issue. “I asked him where he wanted to go for dinner, and he said it was ridiculous that anyone would pay that much for a car. I asked if he wanted to make love and he said he was busy drafting responses to people who had defended the LF-A, whatever that is,” former girlfriend Jackie Dryden said.
Cook has now lost his girlfriend and job. “I’m busy. Someone said they would buy this thing if they had the money and I am now working on an explanation for why that would be insane. I am up to about 3 pages, and I think I’ll post it soon. Then they will understand just how wrong they are.”
