Auto Journalists Worried They Won’t Be Invited to “We Build a High Performance Engine” Events at Factories Anymore

Automotive journalists around the world are worried that in the wake of TOYOTAPEDALSCANDALGATE, they won’t be invited to PR events where they have the opportunity to ‘build’ a high performance engine or other car components.

“If they don’t trust themselves to put a pedal assembly together, how can I be doing it with a photographer?” said Nick Brooks, of the CarsRulez blog.

Manufacturers already had to deal with huge expenses for this kind of event. “In addition to insurance, nobody would actually want the Lamborghini some blogger supposedly built. It’d be like getting a $200 haircut at barber school,” said auto industry analyst Peter Gazetti.
